About Metrifold

Metrifold is a growing collection of free calculators, generators and practical tools for jobs where a spreadsheet, an old desktop program or a sheet of scrap paper is still the usual answer. Each tool aims to do one job properly and hand you something usable, such as a full-size template, a CAD file or a fully worked calculation. The first tools cover sheet-metal fabrication, craft templates and ingredient blending.

How the tools are checked

The maths for every tool is covered by automated tests. Results are compared with independently computed reference values and published worked examples. For exported files the tests read the files back: DXF files are parsed and their arcs and lines measured, PDF templates are opened with a PDF reader to confirm page sizes, ruler lengths and pattern dimensions in millimetres, and images are decoded to confirm their size and recorded print resolution.

These checks are digital and cannot account for your printer. Print templates at 100% / Actual size and measure the printed ruler or scale bar before relying on them, and check critical dimensions before cutting material or committing a batch. The tools are provided as-is, without warranty.

Privacy

• Your inputs are processed in your browser. Calculations, previews and downloads are produced on your device. There is no Metrifold server that receives or stores what you enter.
• Images stay on your device. Artwork you add to a generator is read and processed inside the page. It is not uploaded to Metrifold's servers or anywhere else.
• No accounts. There is nothing to sign up for, and no newsletter prompts.
• No AI or paid APIs. The tools are ordinary code running in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to an AI service.
• Cookie-free analytics. Metrifold uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand traffic and performance, such as page views, the websites that link here and how quickly pages load. Cloudflare says it collects this without cookies or local storage. Metrifold sets no cookies of its own and uses no advertising trackers.
• Hosting. The site is served as static files by Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site, and may keep standard server logs.
• Settings in the page address. Tool settings can appear in the address (for example ?D=600) so you can bookmark or share a result. Like any web address, it is sent to the host when a page loads and is included in what the analytics script reports. Cloudflare says Web Analytics does not record query strings.
